Donald Trump ‘diaper’ rumors spiral after suit bulge spotted during 60 Minutes interview

Donald Trump is facing renewed rumors that he wears adult diapers after the president became the subject of widespread online ridicule. The trigger was a noticeable bulge visible beneath his suit pants during a nationally televised interview. The conversation around Trump’s physical health, never far from the surface, has spiraled once again.

The 79-year-old president sat down with CBS’s Norah O’Donnell for a 60 Minutes interview on Sunday, just one day after his abrupt evacuation from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner following a shooting incident on Saturday night. The interview was already drawing significant attention given the dramatic circumstances that preceded it. But it was something far more physical, not political, that took over social media by Monday morning.

While Trump spoke with O’Donnell on camera, viewers began noticing something unusual about the way his clothing fit around the lower back and waist area. Screenshots from the broadcast spread quickly across platforms, with users zeroing in on what appeared to be a distinct protrusion beneath his suit jacket at the back. The image sparked an immediate and heated debate.

Singer Bill Madden was among the first prominent voices to weigh in on the matter. He shared a photograph from the interview on X, writing that Trump “shows not only how morbidly obese he has become, but that he wears a very thick adult diaper.” His post drew thousands of responses within hours.

The replies ranged from blunt to darkly comedic. “That’s what happens when you’re on a McDonald’s diet and have incontinence,” one user wrote. Others were more theatrical in their mockery, with one commenter saying, “Dang, the diaper has its own zip code. It could probably stop a bullet.”

Not everyone was convinced the bulge was diaper-related. Some users offered more medically grounded theories. “Or some kind of a medical device to keep him going. Maybe it’s a battery pack,” one person suggested. Another proposed, “He may also have a diaper, but that huge poof below the waist is where his shapewear ends. The fat just looks more exaggerated as a result.”

A third commentator went even further with their theory. “I still think it’s a colostomy bag. Perhaps over the multi-layered Depends,” they speculated. None of these claims have been verified, and the White House has not issued a specific response to this round of rumors.

This is far from the first time Trump has faced these particular allegations. The diaper narrative has followed him for years, largely fueled by the repeated public statements of Noel Casler, a former crew member who worked on Celebrity Apprentice for six seasons. Casler has been one of the most persistent and specific voices making these claims.

“He would often soil himself on The Apprentice set. He’s incontinent,” Casler told MediasTouch in 2020. His account was detailed and direct, drawing on what he described as firsthand experience working alongside Trump on set over multiple years.

Casler described Trump’s bowel control as “uncontrollable.” He added, “He’s worn diapers since probably the 90s, but I saw it first-hand in the 2000s on The Celebrity Apprentice, and we’d have to stop the show and change him.” Trump has never filed a defamation lawsuit against Casler over these specific claims, a detail that has not gone unnoticed by observers online.

Earlier this year, a separate but similar round of speculation emerged after a viral video from a January 29 Oval Office gathering. Footage showed reporters being abruptly ushered out of the room, and social media users quickly began claiming the president had “soiled himself.” The video circulated widely before fact-checkers and journalists began looking more closely at what actually happened.

White House spokesman Steven Cheung pushed back firmly on those claims at the time, calling the allegation “not true.” The official White House position remains that Trump’s medical team has certified him to be in “excellent” health. However, that certification has done little to quiet the ongoing public curiosity about the president’s physical condition.

The 60 Minutes interview itself was already notable for reasons beyond the clothing controversy. It came just hours after Trump was evacuated from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner due to a nearby shooting, an event that also drew controversy when the behavior of Melania Trump and press secretary Karoline Leavitt in the aftermath was widely criticized online.

Trump has also recently attracted attention for a visible bruise on his left hand, which the White House said was caused by clipping it on a table corner during a signing ceremony. That explanation was met with skepticism in some circles, adding to a broader pattern of public concern and media scrutiny over the president’s physical wellbeing.

What is clear is that these recurring conversations about Trump’s health are not going away. Whether the bulge in question is a diaper, a medical device, shapewear, or simply the way his suit fits, the moment has once again opened a window into a deeply personal debate about the physical fitness of the most powerful person in the United States. And once that window opens, the internet rarely lets it close quietly.
