The United States is back in position to co-host the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but president Donald Trump has a massive problem on his hands before the global soccer event.
The FIFA World Cup will kick off this summer across the U.S., Canada and Mexico in the first-ever tournament hosted across three countries.
However, growing security concerns have arisen as cities across America are worried about having the necessary tools for a tournament of this size. That includes roughly $625 million that was allocated to the World Cup that still hasn’t been passed over from Donald Trump’s office.
Front Office Sports revealed the huge conundrum that the United States is currently facing after Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” has failed to produce the funds for major cities to increase security measures.
As it stands, funds are currently being withheld as the partial government shutdown drags on. This continues to put America in a tough position before the biggest sports event in the world.
Trump and the U.S. have a huge two years ahead beyond just hosting the FIFA World Cup. The 2028 Summer Olympics will return to American soil as well with Los Angeles preparing for the huge event.

Meanwhile, the 2032 Winter Olympics also make a return to the U.S. when Salt Lake City hosts its first Games since the winter of 2002.
President Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" was supposed to send $625 million to World Cup host cities for security measures.
They haven't received it yet, and now the funds are blocked by the partial government shutdown affecting the Department of Homeland Security.

Grifting at it’s best. Spend money on Argentina, wars in Venezuela and Iran, but fuck all in the US infrastructure. Dipshit president.
